Jared Crozier: Senators eke out a shootout win over Canadiens

I thought this game was played better than the large majority of games in the last two years. Jared you didn't seem as impressed, but Sens seemed to dominate for large portions of the game, especially in the neutral zone where games are won or lost. The old Sens would have let that 3-man DISadvantage kill them but this team stayed calm and got it done. Loved it.

Sens looked like a real different team. I am still bullish on them making the playoffs, as I think they don't have enough high-end skill compared to the elite teams and the goaltending could pose a problem, but if this was a glimpse of the system under Boucher, I like it.

Good game, we really need to be better defensively though.

Is Zack Smith still considered a "roll player" ? Diorion and Boucher seem to think he's a top 6 power forward.


Sens lucked out in this game.

i though Ottawa was very strong on the counter. A good start to the season. There is much to be happy about.

How do you figure they lucked out....they controlled the majority of that game and took their foot off the gas. They didn't luck out, but they did almost beat themselves.

Yeah not sure what game he was watching,Ottawa does need to learn how to manage the game a bit better and not exert as much energy while leading.Also getting the PP fixed is a must. That 5 on 3 was the time to finish MTL off
